About

I'm a filmmaker who's been cutting together home movies since I was a little kid, and honestly, I never really stopped. I was a drama major in high school, then went on to the University of Guelph, where I minored in Media and Cinema Studies.

Right now I'm looking for my next full-time role in media. Long term, I want to make film and TV.

Where it started

This is the first movie I ever made, back in 2014 with my cousin. Looking back, it's genuinely so weird and a little embarrassing. But this is where it all started for me. This was the first spark of my passion for creating. Making something out of nothing, editing it together on my mom's laptop and watching it back for the first time, I felt like Kubrick. Ever since I dropped this movie, I've been chasing that high to edit and create on a professional level.

Weddings and branded videos, start to finish. My favourite part was knowing how much each one would mean. Every video I shot or edited was going to be a forever memory for a couple and their family, and being trusted with that is still one of the things I'm proudest of.

How I worked on a shoot

Before

Planning the day, storyboards and briefs with the couple or client.

On the day

Running camera, lighting and audio, and staying out of the photographer's shot.

In the edit

Cutting it together in Premiere and After Effects, with the colour and sound done properly.

Started as a volunteer in 2020 and ended up running the whole content side. I built their Instagram from scratch around youth and animal welfare, and somewhere along the way 30 volunteers started coming to me for answers.

Took ideas from a rough concept and script all the way to the finished post or video.

I photographed this fundraiser, helped run it on the day, and edited the post.

The video

I wrote the script and handled the edit for this cooking segment with Chef Zach Keeshig, shaping the footage into a short, easy to follow recipe video for the foundation's YouTube channel.
